Embarrassing Moments
Matchless Experience
IN 1938, when I was 16, my sister and brother-in-law vacationed at a cabin in Yellowstone National Park and invited me to join them.
It was cold at night, and my brother-in-law asked me to go to the nearby filling station to get some matches for the stove. When I returned, all the cabins looked alike to me.
I entered what I thought was our cabin and saw a stranger standing inside. I thought he was a caretaker delivering some firewood.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked.
“Where do you think I’m going?” I answered as I continued walking through to a back room of the cabin. There I found two partly clothed women and a third rushing to get her clothes on.
I left in a hurry, but I heard them laughing as I did.
You can bet I never forgot that experience!
